About The CoIn
CoIn Theatre Company
CoIn Theatre Company is an internationally touring company founded in London in 2014. It's opened with a short black comedy, Weights about metropolitan life written and directed by its founder and Artistic Director, Adam Burak. The next critically-acclaimed show, a 3-actor version of Shakespeare’s Hamlet, was performed in Stratford-upon-Avon, toured in Egypt, India and Russia.
In December 2016, Natsumi Kuroda won the Best Leading Actress Award for her roles in the production at the ArtOkraina Festival in St. Petersburg. In June 2017 a 4-actor take of As You Like It has opened on tour in Romania at the BabelFAST Internatitonal Festival and received numerous invitations worldwide for 2018.
Industry Events & Charity
In March 2017 the company has launched a theatre industry event session for emerging playwrights with a night entitled Playwright Speed Pitching as first milestone of a broader project. In November in collaboration with the Corpus Christi Catholic Church Hamlet! was performed for Key Stage 2 students with free entry in Brixton followed by a charitable fundraising night show at the church.
In 2018 the company has established CoIn Events and offers a variety of performances especially created for events and banquets. The repertoire includes readings, event-based interactive performance and theatrical experience also.
We proudly offer in all performance a unique, active part to the audience, as one of our aims is to recognize the observer as a present time being. The other golden rules are connected to the company’s name such as we are CO as collaborative and cooperative; IN as international and interactive meanwhile we never forget that a coin has two utterly different, undoubtedly connected sides.
