As You Like It
By William Shakespeare
About The Show
As You Like It is a fascinating story about people who desperately want to fall in love. Through their feelings towards their adored they are seeking for a yet undiscovered part of their own personality, a little path what leads them into the unknown wilderness. With undressing all the consciousness, moral obligations and social existence shows off the pure madness of desire. Love letters are on the trees, woman chasing a man, man chasing a woman – man chasing a woman dressed as a man. And meanwhile all these happenings two clowns are there also, Fellini’s bitter and joyful pair, having no allusion to keep commenting on all this sheer madness.
'Shakespeare’s As You Like It for us is about the unlimited human imagination. The imagination empowered by our need to love that could vanish the brick walls of reality and create the Forest of Arden where the departed lovers could fell into each other where friendship has importance where time is unlimited and both deep sadness and sheer joy is waiting to experience. All Rosalind’s and Celia’s imagination about love is projected into this world whatever idealistic or childish it is, like the changing backdrop, or the hanging swing.' adds Adam Burak director about the new take on Shakespeare's masterpiece.
As You Like It was all about the stage, the players, and the feelings.
